Running Crosser Node behind proxy

In segregated networks, especially in industrial IT/OT environments, it is quite common to use proxies to ensure security. This means that applications that would like to access services in other networking segments have to pass those proxies. Crosser is often used to connect different systems and services across various networking layers, hence this is a requirement Crosser is prepared for.

Let’s assume the Node is supposed to send all outbound traffic to the outside world via proxy but some local services can be accessed without passing the payload through the proxy.

Crosser Proxy

Such a setup can be achieved with the below configuration.

Crosser_Configuration Example

Crosser will send the payload traffic to the proxy where it can be inspected which guarantees full visibility. Then it is up to the proxy to decide what to do with the traffic (forward to the original destination, block it, ...).
